ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Preparing your home for the cold and bitter winter months can save you valuable time and money. Experts say it’s best to get a head start.
CEO of Southern Trust Home Services, Ted Puzio, says there are a number of things you should do to prepare, and making a list can help you so you don’t forget.
“What I suggest every year is make a checklist. Next season you can delete stuff that you really don’t need to do or add more to it, but make a checklist first for your heating system, next for your plumbing system, and next for your electrical; your basic systems that are more taxed this time of year coming into the freezing cold weather,” said Puzio.
Puzio says his top three concerns are checking that nothing is attached to your outside faucets, getting your gutters cleaned out, and making sure there’s no debris next to your outside heating system.
