Do you know the answer? Make your guess and scroll down to see if you’re right!

April’s full moon is commonly known as the Pink Moon. According to NASA, Native Americans named the Pink Moon after creeping phlox – a native wildflower to eastern North America. The wildflower is also known as moss phlox and mountain phlox.

April’s full moon is known by other names like the Sprouting Grass Moon, the Egg Moon, and the Fish Moon.

Since this is the first full moon after the spring equinox, April’s full Moon is also called the Paschal Full Moon. This is important to those who celebrate Easter since Easter’s date depends on the date of the Paschal Full Moon.

The Pink Moon for 2022 will rise Saturday, April 16. The moon will reach peak illumination at 2:57 p.m., but it won’t be visible above the horizon until after sunset.
