According to NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration), when is the climatological peak of the Atlantic hurricane season?

The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 through November 30. However, tropical storms and hurricanes can form before and after these dates, respectively. 

NOAA says the peak of the Atlantic hurricane season is September 10, with most activity occurring between mid-August and mid-October. 

Statistically, September 10 is when the Atlantic Basin has had the most hurricanes and tropical storms over the course of history.
