Three out of the four seasons have been experienced this week or will be, as Monday felt like winter, today we have Spring, and Friday it will feel like Summer.

Expect to see a mostly cloudy night ahead with the chance for some light rain to arrive in the mountains around sunrise. The rain is not expected to be all that robust, in fact, there is a chance that most of it won’t make it to the ground and evaporate in the dry air. Clouds will be dissipating in the afternoon as the temps warm into the 60s and 70s.

Speaking of temperatures, the region is going through or will be going through, a significant range of numbers as we move through the week. The mercury has been in the 20s and 30s this morning for lows and will be in the 80s for highs by the end of the week. That is a fairly large swing in temps, even for spring in the Commonwealth. The temperature trends will be moving up the thermometer over the next few days as a ridge of high pressure migrates over the eastern half of the country.

Once the light rain discussed earlier ends Thursday morning, we should be on the dry side until at least next Tuesday.

Highs over the weekend will be very warm as middle to even some upper 80s will be obtained. If you are hiking or recreating this weekend, make sure to drink plenty of water and stay cool.

Spring is a wonderful season. I went from discussing how to keep your plants safe from the early morning frost today, to making sure you stay hydrated in the heat over the weekend.

Stay Safe,
