Most of the weekend looks dry with increasing showers in the forecast for late Sunday. Enjoy the dry weather before rain chances ramp up for most of next week!
The rest of this Saturday looks nice with temperatures remaining on the mild side overnight. Temperatures cool down into the low to mid 50s in the mountains and to around 60 degrees across the Piedmont. Some patchy fog is possible by sunrise, especially west of the Parkway.
Sunday starts out partly cloudy with clouds building in during the afternoon. It will be another warm day with highs reaching the upper 70s to near 80 west of the Parkway and into the low to mid 80s eastward.
The region stays dry most of Sunday. However, widely scattered showers will move in from the west as a cold front approaches.
This front slows down over our area and maintains a chance for showers and storms Monday and Tuesday. Although this front may push just outside of the local viewing area by Wednesday, ample moisture remains in place as a slow-moving area of low pressure develops to our south before moving off the east coast by week’s end.
Best rain chances Friday will be east of the I-81 corridor. For now, next Saturday looks dry across the entire region.
