There will be a round of rain showers and possibly a few isolated thunderstorms as we move through Saturday.

The rain will be arriving from the north after the noon hour and provide the area with some widespread rain. The forecast high temperature is still in the upper 80s, but if the rain arrives in the early afternoon, as expected, the highs will have a tough time getting to that mark.

Once the showers exit, there will be some pockets of fog early Sunday morning and a much cooler regime.

Sunday will be partly to mostly cloudy as the cool air takes hold of the Commonwealth. Highs on Sunday should only reach the low to middle 70s under the cloud deck.

Monday starts a clearing-out process and a warmer pattern returns. Highs will be in the mid-80s early in the week, but dip back to the 70s by the middle of the week.

The tropics got a bit interesting this week as our first named storm of the Atlantic Basin became realized, “Arlene”.
