We started off with a cool morning in Southwest and Central Virginia. When you head out the door this morning, you’ll feel temperatures in the 50s. These are the coolest morning temperatures we’ve had since June! While we’ll have a little taste of autumn this morning, afternoon temperatures will make their way into the upper 70s and mid 80s. Little to no cloud cover is expected throughout the day and humidity will be low.
The area of high pressure that is bringing us this fair weather pattern will settle in for the next few days. For the Labor Day holiday, expect mostly sunny skies. Morning temperatures will be in the cool 50s before warming up into the 80s for the afternoon. If you’re planning on being outside for long periods of time, remember to put on sunscreen and bring some water along as well!
While we will still see a lot of sunshine for Tuesday, the air will be muggier and there will be a gradual increase in cloud cover as we head later into the day. A few spotty showers and storms may develop during the late afternoon and evening hours, but rain chances are fairly low for Tuesday.
A front will approach Southwest and Central Virginia late Tuesday into Wednesday morning. Scattered showers and storms will have the chance to develop for the remainder of the week.
