You can probably give your puffy coat a break today. Temperatures this morning are in the 40s, so a jacket and layers may be better suited for your comfort needs this morning.
Dress in layers as temperatures will be mild again this afternoon, around 60 degrees for the high. While temperatures will not be as warm as yesterday, the above-average trend continues for another day.
Friday will be back to more of a winter feeling as highs are forecast to only reach the 40s along with rain and a wintry mix for some. Moisture from the south may arrive in the form of snow for areas along and west of the Parkway in time for the morning commute. Light accumulation can be expected as much of the snow will likely melt on roads due to recent warm weather. However, some slick spots may develop through the morning before changing to rain during the afternoon. Rain is expected for the Piedmont.
