Weather Blog

An area of high pressure is building into the region, resulting in fair and dry weather across much of the Commonwealth for the weekend.

Overnight temperatures will still be chilly, but not as cold. Lows will be in the 30s and upper 20s.

For Easter Sunday, skies will be mostly sunny and temperatures will rebound! Expect afternoon highs in the mild 60s and 70s. These temperatures are a bit closer to average for this time of year.

The dry and mild weather pattern will persist through the beginning of next week. For Monday, skies will be mostly clear and afternoon highs will be in the upper 60s and 70. Nighttime lows will be in the 40s.

Some clouds will move into the region on Tuesday and Wednesday, but the dry weather will continue. Temperatures will remain above average with highs in the mid to upper 70s. A few spots in Southside and Central Virginia could warm up into the low 80s.

Rain returns to the forecast later in the week. Scattered showers, as well as a few thunderstorms, are possible for both Thursday and Friday. It will also be a bit cooler with temperatures falling back down into the low 70s and 60s.
