Strong to severe storms are likely to arrive tomorrow in the afternoon with gusty winds as the main issue. The storms will be part of a large complex that is expected to give us stormy weather into the night Friday along with some rainy and stormy weather Saturday.

The Storm Prediction Center has placed the region under a Marginal Risk for Severe Storms Friday with the Southern portion of the region in the Slight Risk Category.

There is a chance for a few isolated tornadoes to spin up tomorrow in the afternoon and evening over the Piedmont as the region percolates in the heat. Make sure to rehearse your safety plan today and tonight with your family as tomorrow may be active.

Here are some things you need to keep in mind during severe weather.

The storms will linger into Saturday as an area of low pressure, the one that is anchoring the storms for Friday will move overhead Saturday. Rainy conditions are likely.

Mother’s Day will be pleasant, with variably cloudy skies and cooler air.

Stay Safe,

John Carroll
