Today there is a good chance for storms as the region is settling into a rather rainy and stormy pattern. The storms today may be strong to severe in our Piedmont Counties as gusty winds and hail will be the main threat. The Storm Prediction Center has placed us under the Marginal Risk for severe storms though the evening.
These storms will generate some very gusty winds. The Threat of a Tornado has been removed, but we are still watching the area east of 29 carefully.
Although the area in our viewing responsibility is small, it is still present, so we need to respect the storms today (as we do every time there is a storm threat) as they have the potential to become rather intense.
As the night comes upon us the storm threat exits to the east. Some fog may develop after the rain tonight so there may be some travel issues Wednesday morning.
Wednesday is looking less threatening but we may see some isolated storms in the late day time frame
Thursday should be the quiet day of the week, with just a mix of clouds and sunshine as well as temps about 10 degrees cooler.
Friday will be stormy, so the quiet pattern will be short-lived. The storms will be lingering into at least Saturday
