For the rest of your Christmas Day, the best rain chances will stay well to our north and west. While a stray spotty shower can’t be ruled out later on this Saturday across the Highlands, the rest of the region will remain dry despite the clouds.
Winds will be a bit gusty from time to time into tonight. A Wind Advisory continues through 1 a.m. for parts of the New River Valley where gusts to 45 mph could bring weak branches onto neighboring power lines, possibly resulting in spotty power outages.
Temperatures are running well above average for the holiday weekend. High pressure will become our dominant feature as it works in from the west. This will allow for more sunshine Sunday. Temperatures will rebound from the 40s and 50s during the morning hours back into the upper 50s and 60s for highs on Sunday. It will be another unseasonably mild afternoon.
Temperatures stay above normal into at least midweek. We’ll also see our rain chances return by midweek.
