Showers are likely Saturday with thunderstorms possible. The showers will travel west to east and likely end by early afternoon west of the Blue Ridge and leave the area east by mid-afternoon.

There is a slight chance some of the storms along and east of Highway 29 may become strong to severe. The greatest likelihood of that is farther east beyond Richmond.

The Storm Prediction Center’s severe weather outlook for Saturday has the 29 corridor as Marginal, which is the lowest threat level and indicates a low chance for isolated storms.

The day will be cool with temperatures remaining in the 60s with highs around 64-68. Sunday will be breezy and cool with lows in the 40s and highs in the mid-50s to mid-60s.

Have a safe and enjoyable weekend!
