Clouds will begin to roll in overnight Saturday into Sunday morning with temperatures in the mid to upper 50s. Sunday afternoon will be a mix of clouds and sunshine with a 40% chance of showers and a lesser chance of thunderstorms into the evening. Highs will be in the mid to upper 70s.

After that system passes, we return to cool weather that will last through the coming week. Lows will be in the 40s and highs in the upper 60s to low 70s.

We are watching Tropical Storm Ian in the Caribbean which is expected to reach hurricane strength by early Monday morning. While there are conditions that could impact the storm’s path, it looks like it will move into the Gulf of Mexico and threaten the US coast directly from Central Florida to Mobile, AL. There are other paths being projected but this one looks most favorable. The strength of the storm will determine the breadth of hazards outside of the projected path.

There are some forecast models that have Ian, or its remnants, making it to Virginia by next Saturday. Follow us here for updates on Ian.

Have a safe and enjoyable weekend,
