Pinpoint Weather: Scattered showers and storms, some may be strong to severe
The Storm Prediction Center has placed the region in the Marginal Risk Category for severe storms today with gusty winds and 1” diameter hail possible. There is mention that a few of the storm may spawn a spin up tornado, but that chance is very low (but not zero). The bulk of the stronger storms will arrive in the late day time frame as the area heats up. We will be on guard for any strong to severe weather that may arrive. Download our WFXR news app to keep ahead of the storms.
Tonight we should see a settling down of the storm and I am expecting misty and mild weather overnight. Tuesday looks to be another day with the threat of strong storm. This will be in a line that is expected in the afternoon. There will be some sunshine early in the day that will help to percolate the atmosphere and allow the storms to develop. The storms Tuesday may be a bit more aggressive and intense than those expected today.
Wednesday will be significantly cooler as the line of storms mentioned above for Tuesday will be followed by a cool pattern. There is still a threat of some showers Wednesday so keep the rain gear handy.
Thursday and Friday will be cool along with a mix of clouds and sunshine. Expect to see a rogue shower or two each day. That will complete the work week with the possibility of rain falling each of the five days.
The weekend at this moment does look to be dry, but that all may change as we all know.
