Pinpoint Weather: Warm and dry weekend ahead

Weather Blog

(WFXR) — We had some rain earlier this morning, but that batch of moisture has moved off toward the east.

For the remainder of Friday, the weather will be fairly quiet across Southwest and Central Virginia. Skies will gradually clear and high temperatures will be in the upper 70s and low to mid 80s. There is a slight chance for a few showers to develop during the afternoon, but much of the region will stay dry.

An area of high pressure will build into the area this evening. This will result in mostly clear skies for Southwest and Central Virginia. Low temperatures will be in the 50s and low 60s.

We’re looking at a summer-like weekend ahead. Overall, skies will be mostly to partly sunny. Temperatures for Saturday and Sunday will run above average with highs in the 80s and into the low 90s.

The warm conditions will persist into next week and rain chances will return to the forecast. It will be a summer pattern with showers and storms possible each afternoon. High temperatures will consistently stay in the upper 70s and 80s. A few spots may warm up into the low 90s.
