After a dry and mild Thanksgiving, the region will need to brace for a significantly cooler and brisk regime from the weather world starting tonight and lasting through the weekend. Expecting a cold front to push through the area after midnight and will be followed by some bitterly cold air and blustery conditions.
Not much in the way of rain will fall east of the Foothills, but there may be some mountain snow piling up on the west face of the Alleghany Highland mountains.
The temperatures are expected to rise only into the low 40s and early in the day, about an hour or so after sunrise, the mercury will still be below freezing in a number of locations.
Factor in the winds and we are looking at some bitterly cold wind chill values.
Saturday will be less windy and slightly milder, so if you are planning any outdoor activities this weekend, Saturday may be the better day.
Not that much of a warm-up this coming weekend or for the rest of the week for that matter, so it may be wise to make sure your winter gear is out of the closet.
