ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Happy Thanksgiving! We’re looking at a dry, quiet, and seasonably mild day ahead across Southwest and Central Virginia!

It will be a chilly start to the holiday with morning temperatures in the upper 20s and middle 30s. If you’re participating in the Drumstick Dash, you’ll probably want extra sweats on!

Mostly to partly sunny skies will be over much of the region. No need to worry about any weather-related travel issues! By the afternoon, high temperatures will be in the near-average 50s. Have a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving, everyone!

A storm system will bring rain back into Southwest and Central Virginia late Thursday night into Friday. Some showers are possible. If you’re planning on doing some Black Friday shopping, you may want the rain gear on hand, just in case. When it isn’t raining, mostly cloudy to overcast skies will be overhead. Highs will reach the slightly cooler 50s. Winds will be breezy at times.

Saturday looks to be fairly dry with variably cloudy skies overhead. Those participating in Small Business Saturday probably won’t see any wet weather. It will still be seasonably mild outside with afternoon highs in the mid-50s and close to 60 degrees.

Off-and-on showers are expected along and ahead of an approaching front Sunday. Winds will pick up, as well. While it won’t be persistent rain, make sure to drive safely on those wet roadways.
