(WFXR). The first day of the Astronomical Spring is today as the direct rays of the sun cross the equator at 5:26 pm. This is the halfway point of those direct rays traveling north, ending at the Tropic of Cancer for the Summer Solstice.

An area of high pressure is overhead at the moment, keeping the region dry and cloud-free.

This will migrate east Tuesday and opens the door for some light rain and drizzle Wednesday.

The pattern is currently transitioning into a milder one as temps will be rising into the 50s today then the 60s Tuesday and Wednesday, followed by some 70s and possibly a low 80 late in the week.

Thursday will be quiet as we await the arrival of more rain Friday night into Saturday.
