(WFXR). The region is still under the influence of an area of low pressure in the Mid-Atlantic region so spotty showers are possible for another day or so.

There should also be some patchy fog to contend with as air is still moist and lingering mist will reduce visibility in the early morning hours of Wednesday.

There is still a chance for some light rain to speckle the viewing area from time to time this week, but nothing well-organized is on the docket.

We warm up into the 80s east of the Parkway by the end of the week and into the weekend. 

The Meteorological Summer officially begins on Thursday. This is the summer that is defined by the warmer months, not the sun.

Also, Hurricane season begins on June 1st and our “Safety in the Storm” special with an emphasis on Tracking the Tropics will air at 5:30 pm.
