ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — A cold front will move through Southwest and Central Virginia Wednesday, bringing rain showers along with it.
Wednesday won’t be a complete washout. Rain showers will have the chance to move through during the morning hours with another batch of rain expected by the afternoon. There’s a greater chance for showers along and south of US 460. A few rumbles of thunder are possible, but severe weather is not anticipated. Variably cloudy skies will be overhead with high temperatures in the cooler 70s.
An area of high pressure will keep Southwest and Central Virginia mostly dry this Thursday and Friday. Morning temperatures will start in the cool 40s and 50s with afternoon highs in the 70s for both days. Overall, a good deal of sunshine is in the forecast. However, a few stray rain showers may impact areas north of I-64 Friday.

Expect a summer-like weekend ahead! The dry and quiet weather pattern continues into Saturday. It will be noticeably warmer with afternoon temperatures in the upper 70s and into the middle 80s.

Sunday will be warm with highs in the 80s. However, a few isolated rain showers are possible late in the day. A low pressure system will bring showers and thunderstorms to the region Monday.
