Weather Blog

Isolated showers and storms continue early this morning across parts of Southwest VA. Also, some fog will be a factor for some in their morning commute.

A Flash Flood Watch has been issued in effect through Tuesday as heavy rain from numerous showers and storms could lead to some flooding in parts of Southwest VA.

Heavy downpours can be expected with any of the stronger storms. This could lead to some localized flooding. Never attempt to drive across water-covered roads. Always turn around and find an alternate route.

The Storm Prediction Center has outlined parts of Southwest Virginia in a marginal risk for severe weather. A few storms could become severe with the main threat being damaging wind gusts.

We continue to monitor the track for Isaias. We will see showers and storms becoming more numerous through today into Tuesday as Isaias works northward up the east coast. Isaias is expected to hug the coastline with the heaviest precipitation and strongest winds staying at the coast.

Stay safe and healthy.
