It was another sunny day across Southwest and Central Virginia! Temperatures managed to warm up into the 50s and low 60s during the afternoon and the weather was fairly quiet for Sunday. We can expect much of the same for the beginning of the workweek.
For tonight, skies will remain mostly clear and overnight low temperatures will be in the chilly 30s. A few spots in the Alleghany Highlands could fall into the freezing 20s.
Monday will be a rinse-and-repeat forecast of Sunday. You won’t have to worry about grabbing the umbrella or rain jacket, but you may want to wear a pair of sunglasses. Skies will be mostly sunny, although a few clouds may pass overhead. High temperatures will be slightly warmer, ranging anywhere from the upper 50s and into the low to mid 60s.
Clouds will begin to move in on Tuesday. We won’t see as much sunshine during the day, but the weather will stay dry. High temperatures will still be in the upper 50s and low 60s.
A few showers are possible Wednesday. Otherwise, skies will be mostly cloudy and highs will be in the spring-like 60s across the region.
Off and on rain showers return to the forecast on Thursday and Friday. Despite the chance for wet weather and the cloudy skies overhead, high temperatures will manage to warm up into the upper 60s and 70s for both days! There is still the potential that we could hear a few rumbles of thunder later in the week, so the WFXR Pinpoint Weather Team will continue to monitor the forecast.
The start of the upcoming weekend looks dry and sunny. For Saturday, expect mostly sunny skies and temperatures warming up into the 60s and 70s.
