Any snow chance today will be confined to the higher elevations of our westernmost counties.
Winds will pick up again later this afternoon but should not be as gusty as yesterday. It will be a milder afternoon with temperatures climbing higher compared to yesterday. Look for highs in the lower 50s east of the Parkway and 40s farther westward.
Another disturbance will bring more snow showers to parts of the New River Valley and the Highlands late tonight through Wednesday morning. Chances for snow accumulation will be highest along the west-facing slopes of our westernmost counties. Western Pocahontas County could see anywhere from 3 to 5” of snowfall.
Next chance for rain and/or snow, albeit low, for more of Southwest Virginia is Thursday.
Stay safe and healthy.
