Pinpoint Weather: Mild and dry today with warmer weather Sunday, rain arrives Monday

Weather Blog

Enjoy the weekend weather if you like the sunshine and dry conditions because next week looks to be on the rainy and stormy side.

Today will be a quiet day with a good deal of sunshine and much drier air. The temperatures will be in the middle 70s today with a slight breeze from the west. Since we have been so warm this week the 70s will feel cool, but that is about where we should be for the beginning of May.

Clear and chilly night tonight as we get ready for another day in the 80s Sunday.

Tomorrow (Sunday) will be the last dry day for a while so if you have plans to explore the great outdoors, Sunday will be the last time you can do it without rain gear for a few days. Highs will be in the 80s and the winds will be on the light side. Remember to stay hydrated if you are out hiking and “Never leave kids or pets in the car”, the inside of your vehicle can heat up dangerously fast.

Monday starts the rainy period off with the chance for some showers and storms. Stronger storms are expected on Tuesday and a few of them may be severe with gusty winds and hail. Spotty rain is slated for Wednesday and we may get a little bit of a break from the rain on Thursday. A fairly deep area of low pressure will slide though on Friday and this may be fairly formidable. Right now the models are keeping Friday rainy and windy and cooler, but that is a long way in the future and as we all know the forecasts do vary greatly past 72 hours.
