For the rest of this Sunday, isolated storms may develop and move south across the region. Most areas can expect to stay dry, but heavy rain can be expected with any passing shower or storm.

This evening, any shower or storm will gradually taper off by midnight. Areas of fog will develop overnight and may be a factor for some during the morning commute.

Monday through Wednesday, storm chances will be limited, but temperatures will be heating up! Look for highs to hit mid 90s again midweek in many spots. For comparison, the average high for Roanoke this time of year is 86 degrees.

Although storm chances will be limited through midweek, Monday’s best storm chances will be north of U.S. 460.

In addition to the heat, the humidity will build, making it feel more like 100 degrees in some places Tuesday and Wednesday. Remember to stay hydrated and take plenty of breaks in the shade or air conditioning.
