The perpetual flow of rain has finally reached the tipping point and the region will be dealing with significant flooding through the day. Look for the potential for creeks and streams to run fast and full and numerous roads have been closed due to the flooding rains.
An stagnant pattern has finally reached our tipping point as the conveyor belt of rain continues in the region. There is a Flash Flood warning for the region into the afternoon from South Boston to Roanoke. Over two inches of rain has fallen in the area and more is on the way. Although the streams and creeks are running over their banks the main stem rivers have yet to be impacted greatly, but that will change.
Please be aware of the numerous roads that have been impacted by the flooding rains here on our main page. And remember, turn around when you come across a road that has been covered by the flooding rains.
The forecast is calling for more rain today and although the rain may not be as heavy, expect to see any rain lead to more flooding.
