Our weather pattern continues to bring the threat for more locally heavy rainfall that could lead to some flooding and/or flash flooding. Stay weather-aware through your Friday.
Flash Flood Watch is in effect for the entire region until midnight. Scattered to numerous showers and storms are forecast through the afternoon and into tonight. Heavy downpours over already saturated ground from recent rains may lead to some flooding. Creeks and streams may overflow out of their banks and lead to water covering neighboring roads. Always turn around and find an alternate route as you will likely not be able to determine the depth of water until it’s too late.
In addition to the threat for flooding, ponding of water on roads could lead to hydroplaning. So use caution and take it slow on wet roads. Heavy rain will reduce visibilities, so plan for possible slower than usual travel times.
Rain chances will diminish after midnight. This weekend, only isolated showers and storms are possible. Overall rain chances for the weekend are looking much lower with most of the region drying out.
Next week looks drier.
