The dry and tranquil pattern will linger into Tuesday as high pressure is in control of the region.

Temperatures look to be near normal or slightly above for the beginning of the week, but warm up Wednesday ahead of a line of heavy rain and windy conditions.

The Storm Prediction Center has the region on alert Wednesday as a line of heavy rain and gusty winds will move through.

The cold front associated with the rain will provide the rainy pattern early on Wednesday with some areas getting about an inch or so of rain. This will be a fast mover and early in the day, so the severe threat is present, but not likely.

The winds will be howling behind the front as we transition into a drier and much cooler regime.

Temps drop dramatically behind the front.

Dry and chilly conditions linger into the weekend with another round of rain possible on Sunday and Monday.
