Pinpoint Weather: Cooler and breezy, feeling more like fall again

Weather Blog

Rain associated with a passing cold front has exited Southwest Virginia. Winds, however, will remain quite gusty through the rest of the day. Gusts of 20 to 30 mph may result in few limbs falling onto power lines, possibly resulting in isolated power outages.

This evening, clouds will clear out. Wind gusts of around 20 mph will remain possible through tonight with a gradual decrease into early Sunday.

Temperatures are falling behind today’s front. Overnight, temperatures will drop into the 40s. There may still be a bit of a wind around Sunday morning that may produce winds chills as low as the 30s west of the Parkway.

After a chilly Sunday morning, temperatures will struggle to make it out of the 50s under sunny skies. It will be much cooler compared to previous days, despite the sunshine. So have your favorite jacket or coat ready!

Forecast looks dry through the rest of the workweek with highs climbing through the 60s and into the 70s by midweek.
