An area of high pressure is dominating the Commonwealth for this weekend, which means plenty of sunshine and quiet weather for the next few days.
It was a chilly start to the weekend with morning low temperatures ranging from the low 40s and into the 30s. For Saturday afternoon, temperatures will gradually make their way into the 50s and low 60s. You don’t have to worry about any rain if you have fall activities planned for this weekend!
Frost may have the chance to develop again overnight into early Sunday morning. The National Weather Service has issued a Frost Advisory for many counties in Southwest and Central Virginia. Low temperatures are forecast to fall into the 30s. Make sure your pets are staying warm tonight. If you’re working on a fall garden, cover your plants to protect them from the cold temperatures.
More sunshine is slated for Sunday! Temperatures will be slightly warmer for the afternoon with highs in the 60s. It’s definitely shaping up to be a autumn-like weekend!
A few clouds may move through for the beginning of the week, but much of Southwest and Central Virginia will stay relatively dry. A warming trend will take place for the first few days of the work week. High temperatures will slowly make their way back into the 70s by Tuesday and Wednesday. A few locations may even make it to the 80-degree mark.
There is the chance for a few showers toward the end of the upcoming week.
