Pinpoint Weather: Calm weather through the weekend, scattered storms Monday

Weather Blog

High pressure remains in control of our weather pattern through the weekend ahead of a strong cold front slated to move through the area Monday.

Temperatures will turn a bit chilly by morning with lows in the mid and upper 40s west to around 50 degrees east.

Sunday will be another nice afternoon with temperatures climbing just a bit higher. Look for highs in the low and mid 70s across the region for most locations.

Enjoy the comfortably warm afternoon Sunday as changes are on the way thanks to a strong cold front to start the work week.

Ahead of the front, scattered showers and storms can be expected late Monday afternoon into the evening. A few of these storms may become severe with damaging wind gusts being the primary threat. The Storm Prediction Center has our entire region under a Slight Risk for severe weather. While not everyone will see a storm, you’ll want to stay weather-aware through the day on Monday, mainly afternoon and evening.

Behind the front, cooler and drier air moves back in. Highs on Tuesday, despite the sunshine, may be hard-pressed to make it out of the 50s for many locales.
