Tonight will be increasingly cloudy in advance of rain that will move across the region Sunday. Morning temperatures will be warmer beneath the clouds and with the southerly flow bringing the precipitation.

Rain is likely Sunday with a slight chance of sleet mixing with rain in the New River Valley, Alleghany Highlands, and areas to the west. Temperatures will be just barely cold enough to support that. Most areas will get rain throughout the day.

Afternoon temperatures will be close to normal for Sunday.

There is a chance of rain on and off throughout the upcoming week with the possibility of some snow mixing in during the colder mornings. Most afternoons will be warm enough to support just rain or showers.
