Weather Blog

Welcome to November! We can expect highs on Sunday to feel like November as we can expect highs to reach the lower 60s which is right about where we should be for this time of year.

Rain will come into the area around sunrise (which is now before 7 a.m., thanks to the time change). Rain could be locally heavy, especially in parts of Southside and Central Virginia but it shouldn’t last overly long. By late-morning, we should start to dry out.

Then, during the afternoon, we’ll notice the wind picking up. Some of the highest elevations could top out close to 60 mph in gusts. Those gusty winds will linger into Sunday night and even into early Monday.

From Sunday night into early Monday, some mountain snow is in the forecast. Localities along the western slopes. In upwards of two inches is possible in locations such as Marlinton and Quinwood.

The rest of the week looks dry with a slow warm-up as some areas could see 70 degrees toward the end of the upcoming week.
