Sunday will be a cold and rainy day with a chance of sleet and freezing rain early in the morning while temperatures are around 30. As is usual here, the timing of the arrival of the rain and the increase in temperatures will determine the wintry mix. The greatest likelihood of freezing rain is along the tops of the Blue Ridge and western mountains. There are Winter Weather Advisories for Sunday.

For the most part, it will be a rainy day with afternoon temperatures in the upper 30s.

Monday morning may start with lingering precipitation falling as snow along and northwest of I-64 until around 9 am. The afternoon will be cold and blustery across the region with NW wind gusting over 30 mph and highs in the 30s. More rain is likely Wednesday. That will be similar to Sunday with morning freezing rain and sleet possible.

Have a safe and enjoyable weekend!
