The above-average temperatures will be sticking around in the forecast for the next several days.
Mostly sunny skies are expected for Sunday, but there is a slight chance for isolated showers and storms during the afternoon. This will be a similar scenario to what we’ve been seeing the past couple of days: while there is the potential for rain, many spots will not see it. Some storms could produce heavy rainfall and gusty winds at times. However, much of the region will experience warmer-than-average temperatures. 90s can be expected for parts east of the Blue Ridge, with temperatures in the upper 80s to the west.
Slow-moving spotty showers and storms are in the forecast for Monday as well. Localized flooding could become an issue with some of these storms, as well as gusty winds.
