The next couple of days will be a rinse and repeat forecast: hot temperatures are sticking around and there is a chance for isolated showers and storms.
Showers and storms exit the region as we get closer to sunset on Saturday. A calm, but mild and muggy evening is ahead. Temperatures in many spots will be close in the 60s and low 70s overnight. Conditions will be staying dry.
A forecast similar to Saturday’s can be expected for Sunday. The morning will be dry with mostly sunny skies east of I-81 and variable cloud cover west. A disturbance will bring the potential for isolated showers and storms, mainly after noon. Some of these storms could become strong to severe. However, they will be one in a few. Rain chances, once again, will dwindle as we get closer to sunset on Sunday.
Temperatures will still be well above average for this time of year. 80s can be expected in the New River Valley, while temperatures will warm up into the low 90s elsewhere.
