A mild week ahead, only slight chances for rain

Weather Blog

As we start to wrap up the weekend today, we look ahead to what promises to be a relatively mild next several days.

Today, we can expect to see variably cloudy skies and temperatures will be close to where they were on Saturday.

But……….

We do have a weak cold front expecting to come in this evening. If you have outdoor plans (hopefully around your house), you might see a few isolated showers, perhaps a stray thunderstorm possible ahead of the front’s approach.

Monday, we can expect one more stellar spring-like day as we should see highs back up into the lower 70s (similar to Sunday’s highs) – but again, a slight chance for a few stray showers or storms will be possible.

One change you may notice on Tuesday, is an up-tick in the humidity levels. Just a tad…nothing to significant, but it will likely be a bit noticeable. Same thing on Wednesday, just a slightly higher humidity level. It is getting to be that time of year, so we shouldn’t be too surprised, and don’t expect stifling humidity by any means – just a bit more noticeable.

With slightly increased humidity levels, we will continue with the slight chance for a few thunderstorms through mid-week. The Storm Prediction Center is watching our area on Tuesday for the chance for some isolated severe weather. This forecast will be refined, so keep checking back for the latest forecasts during the day on Monday and into early Tuesday.

We’ll have temperatures flirt with the 80-degree mark mid-week as well in the metros.

Then, by week’s end, we’re looking for a significant cool-down with highs losing maybe as much as 20 degrees, going from the upper 70s to lower 80s down well into the 60s.

The chances for rain and/or storms this week isn’t looking overly significant. Generally peaking at 30 to 40-percent mid-week.

While lots of places are closed, courtesy of coronavirus, you may still want to do anything outside, so the best bet is to do it in your backyard. Grab some burgers, hot dogs, steaks…whatever floats your boat and enjoy a nice outdoor barbecue. It’s been a stressful last several weeks. Treat yourself and your family to a nice stay-at-home feast on the grill. Just have the umbrella on standby.
