DANVILLE, Va. (WFXR) – Danville officials say they are ready for the impending winter storm.
Updated forecasts indicate an increased risk of ice where up to three-tenths of an inch of ice is now expected.

There could still be a few inches of snow also possible in the Danville area as well.
City officials say if there is anyone who needs shelter to contact their non-emergency number for the Emergency Communications Center at 434-799-5111 and select option 8.
The center will arrange the meet the need.
Also, they say that Public Works crews will be working 12-hour, around-the-clock shifts starting Sunday morning to plow snow, spread salt and sand and remove any fallen trees and limbs that may end up blocking streets.

Utility crews will be on standby and are prepared to work staggered 16-hour shifts. JEA, a Florida-based utility company is sending a 26-member crew and three support personnel to Danville to help restore power, should there be a need.
