The National Weather Service confirms tornado in Pulaski county

Significant wind event and an EF-1 tornado snapped trees and damaged structures in Giles and Pulaski county Friday evening. A single Supercell generated winds near 100 mph at times as it migrated SSE from Giles to Pulaski county. The Supercell produced a brief tornado in Pulaski county as the storm cell intensified. The tornado was confirmed Saturday afternoon by the NWS as an EF-1 touching down near Bella Vista at approximately 8:10 pm. Wind speeds were estimated at 90 – 95 mph, was 50 yards wide and on the ground for about a quarter of a mile. No Fatalities or injuries were reported.

Prior to the tornado, the damage survey team documented strait line winds consistent with a microburst in both Giles and Pulaski counties.
