Heat and humidity today may spark a few strong storms
There will be a summer feel to the atmosphere today as the mercury will pass 90 this afternoon. Isolated strong storms may develop in the heat of the day similar to what happens in the heat of summer. There may be a bit of cap pressing down on the region today that could inhibit the storms from getting too intense, but if the clouds break through the cap, the storm could get fairly robust fairly quickly. Keep an eye to the sky today and tonight as the storms, if they do form, will generate gusty winds and some small hail.
There is a chance for us to see some rain showers later in the evening after the sun goes down. These may be more showery in nature, but some storms are possible.
Thursday will be another hot one with highs in the 90s again. More of the same for the region with respect to storms popping up in the afternoon. There may be a bit of a change since the rain early in the morning may slow down the warm up, so upper 80s to low 90s may be the way to go with scattered storms still possible.
Friday a cold front move in from the northeast and that may give us a bit of cloud cover and some rain to go along with the cooler air. Showers and drizzle may define the day Friday.
Saturday may see some showers and storms under partly to mostly cloudy skies while Sunday may be dry under partly cloudy skies.
