Chilly start Friday, rain overnight into Saturday

Weather

Cold start but a mild finish, weekend starts out with rain

Today will start out on the cold side as the clear skies overnight allowed the temperatures to drop into the 30s most locations with a few in the 20s.  The sun will rise around 6:45 and will start the job of warming the area up fairly quickly.  I am expecting temps to be in the 40s before noon then rise into the sixties after the noon hour. Look for the winds to be noticeable today as well with gusts near 25 – 30 mph at times and sustained near 15 mph.  All the while we will be looking at a good deal of sunshine.

Tonight, I expect to see clouds move in as the night moves on and there is a good chance for rain overnight into Saturday morning.  The rain will linger into the middle of the morning and exit early in the afternoon. The line of showers will arrive from the north, so I expect to see rain in the highlands before midnight but clear before dawn and so I expect to see rain in our southern tier counties by dawn and exit by noon.

So officially, Saturday will start out with rain but I expect to see the sunshine poke out by the end of the afternoon.  Sunday should be pleasant and dry with a mixture of clouds and sunshine and highs in the middle to upper 60s.  Widespread rain is slated to arrive on Monday, but the lions share of the rain and stormy weather will be in the southern portions of the country, but may push this far north.  Rain with this event may be heavy at times and there may also be some rumbles of thunder with this as well.

Stay Safe and healthy.
