MARTINSVILLE, Va. (WFXR)—The City of Martinsville and Fire Chief Dan Howell have announced they will be implementing an outdoor burning ban due to dry conditions and the limited likelihood of significant rainfall soon on Wednesday, Nov. 8.
This local ban will prohibit all outdoor burning including wood, brush, logs, leaves, debris, paper, trash, and other flammable materials. Chief Howell wishes to emphasize that this temporary ban has been put in place for the safety of all citizens and greatly appreciates everyone’s cooperation.
The fire ban will remain in place until conditions improve and local authorities lift the ban.
