BLACKSBURG, Va. (WFXR) – On Wednesday, Oct. 4, the Virginia Tech Board of Visitors announced that it’s voted for a one-time tuition and fee rebate for its students.
VT says all full-time students will receive $275 rebate on their tuition program and part-time students will also receive $15 back per credit hour. On top of tuition, the university will give full-time students a $20 rebate on their comprehensive fee and $19 to $32 for students who live on campus and have a meal plan. Rebate rates will depend on which room and board plan they purchased.
Students with only a meal plan will also receive a partial rebate.
This financial relief will be scheduled to be applied during the spring 2024 semester. Students enrolled for only part of the year will receive a pro-rated percentage of the full rebate.
The board also voted to approve a 2% compensation program. Effective on Dec. 10, eligible VT salaried faculty and staff will receive a 2% pay increase. Additionally, the graduate assistant stipend scale will also advance by 2%.
