Kim Butterfield with the Virginia Cooperative Extension shows us how to make a heart healthy strawberry banana french toast casserole.
4 slices of whole wheat bread
6 diced strawberries
1/3 of a cup of milk
1/4 of a teaspoon of cinnamon
1 and 1/2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
Combine in a bowl and move into small ramekans or an 8×8″ pan. Bake at 375 degrees F for 20 to 25 minutes. Serve with maple syrup.
