BLACKSBURG, Va. (WFXR) — Virginia Tech lacrosse began the 2020 season on a high note with a 17-10 win over Davidson at the Beamer-Lawson Indoor Facility.
Freshman midfielder Kayla Frank led the Hokies with eight points, including three goals and five assists. All three goals were scored in the opening minutes, helping Tech get off to a 5-0 run against the Wildcats.
Junior Paige Petty led Tech in goals with five while Angie Benson made 11 saves in her first appearance in goal in two years.
The Hokies took a 16-5 lead before Davidson scored five of the game’s final six goals. Virginia Tech returns to action on Wednesday when the Hokies travel up to James Madison.
