Virginia Tech holds first practice of the year

BLACKSBURG, Va. (WFXR) – The Virginia Tech Hokies held their first practice of the year amid the coronavirus pandemic. The team as well as the staff were dressed in face coverings and personal protective equipment, while also adhering to social distancing guidelines. For head coach Justin Fuente, navigating his first practice during the COVID-19 pandemic has been tough. But, for Fuente the safety of his players and staff are the top priority.

“The way we stretch is different. Some of the equipment we have on is different. The way we’ve structured some of our drills are different we try not to stay in one spot very long so there’s no chance of continued exposure,” says Fuente.
