UPDATE 3:51 p.m.: In a top 20 ACC battle from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, the 8th ranked North Carolina Tar Heels beat the 19th ranked Virginia Tech Hokies 56-45 at Kenan Stadium.
UNC jumped out to a 21-0 lead, but Tech scored two touchdowns to make it 21-14 UNC.
North Carolina led at one point 42-17, then Virginia Tech scored 20 straight points to make it 42-37 UNC in the 3rd.
North Carolina continued to score a pair of touchdowns to extend the game.
Virginia Tech falls to 2-1 overall and 2-1 in the ACC. The Hokies return home to Lane Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 17, to play Boston College with an 8 p.m. kickoff.
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (WFXR) — In a top 20 battle of ACC teams in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, the 8th ranked North Carolina Tar Heels lead the 19th ranked Virginia Tech Hokie 35-14 at the half.
The Tar Heels jumped out to a 21-0 lead in the 1st quarter.
Then the Hokies scored a pair of TDs to start the 2nd quarter to cut the lead to 21-14.
The Heels then got those two TDs back to make it 35-14.
