BLACKSBURG, Va. (WFXR) – After falling Louisville in game one of their series, the Virginia Tech baseball team was able to defeat the Cardinals 4-3.

Although both teams were scoreless in the first two innings the Hokies found their stride in the bottom of the third inning. Sophomore outfielder Gavin Cross hit a two-run home-run to give the Hokies the early lead.

The Hokies were up one in the bottom of the eighth, until Carson Dimartini singled up through the middle that scored another run and put Virginia Tech up by two.

The Hokies were able to even the series with the Cardinals. They both play the final game Sunday at English Field in Blacksburg. First pitch has been moved up to 11 a.m.
