SALEM, Va. (WFXR) – U.S.A. Softball welcomed teams, coaches, umpires and fans to the 2021 U.S.A. Softball GOLD National Championships as they came into the Roanoke Valley for a week-long tournament that continues through July 24.
A total of 64 teams from the U.S.A. Softball Junior Olympics will play in the 16-Under and 18-Under divisions across three locations including the Arnold Burton Softball Complex and the 2011 and 2012 ASA Complexes of the Year, James Moyer Sports Complex and the Botetourt Sports Complex.
Games for the 16-Under division will primarily be played at the Botetourt Sports Complex while additional games will be played at the Arnold Burton Softball Complex before ending the tournament at the James Moyer Sports Complex.
The 18-Under division will be played at the Arnold Burton Softball Complex and the James Moyer Sports Complex.
Championship games for each division will be held at the James Moyer Sports Complex on Saturday, July 24.

Participating teams earned entry into the tournament through a network of qualifying tournaments and through berths awarded by USA Softball’s CEO.
The elite event for USA Softball’s Junior Olympic Championship play will see 28 teams participate in the 16-Under division while 36 teams will compete in the 18-Under division.
Both divisions will start the week with pool play before competing in double-elimination bracket play which is slated to begin on Wednesday, July 21.
The Championship contests will take place on Saturday, July 24 at 3 p.m. for both divisions with the “if-necessary” games slated for 5 p.m. Saturday.
